The Importance of Self- Care

One of the best things you can do for your mind and body is to take care of yourself and give 'YOU' a break every now and then. Science shows that when you take the time to take care of yourself with daily self-care, you will be more productive, reduce stress and feel happier.
Use these simple self-care ideas that will only take a few minutes every day!
S – snuggle with a furry friend or a human – being close to someone who provides affection (licks from the puppy count) increases oxytocin – what’s considered the love hormone.
E – eat foods that nourish you – notice what foods fuel your body and mind.
L – look at something beautiful – a picture or an image that makes you smile or inspires you, mindfully, for a minute. Find a favorite # on Instagram to follow – like #instagoo or #instamood.
F – funny clips, GIF’s or images – laughing and smiling produce happy endorphins making it more likely you’ll be nicer to yourself and those around you.
C – create confident thoughts with affirmations – take a moment to look for inspiring quotes or phrases, read them to yourself, and make them a screensaver on your phone or computer, print them out and hang them on your mirror.
A – allow yourself a little luxury – the towels you reserve for guests, use them for you, buy the nice bath salt, get a food massage, grab your favorite coffee from your favorite coffee shop, and treat your body with some love.
R – read a blog or book that inspires you or that you have been looking forward to.
E – enjoy a warm beverage, a cup of tea, or coffee – become mindful of the little things throughout the day that makes you feel good.
Doing these little things every day will make an improvement in your self-esteem.
