How to Keep Warm While on Campus

How to Keep Warm While on Campus
Winter at university can be a struggle for many students. Those shortened days, darker nights, and even darker mornings can be a real nightmare.

Layer up with plenty of clothes

For those of you who would wait for a bus to get to school, the chances are you will get shivers down your spine. That is why layering up your clothes is a much-needed recommendation so, that you can be comfortable and warm. Instead of wearing just a long-sleeve dress, for instance, you can wear a vest/short-sleeved t-shirt and a jumper underneath it to keep the cold at bay. Wearing the usual winter clothes such as a cozy coat, a woolly hat, gloves, and of course, a scarf is always a great addition to your wardrobe this time of year. Thats way, you don’t feel as cold as you would without one – especially if you cannot control the heating of the lecture hall.

2. Hot drinks are a MUST

We know you needed an excuse to drink more tea or coffee, so here it is! Winter practically comes with a requirement to carry a hot drink with you at all times, especially when you’re a student in a freezing cold student house. Do your part for your housemates and become the designated tea maker – they’ll love you forever.

3. Have a hot meal on campus

It is generally recommended to have at least one hot meal a day in order to maintain your body temperature at its normal level. You can either buy some hot meals from the several food outlets on campus or you can bring your own and microwave it in one of the available microwaves. For example, you can bring some macaroni and cheese and bask in its gooey gloriousness as you chase away that frightful cold.

4. Bring a hot water bottle

If you still feel the cold in lecture halls, you could bring your own hot water bottle. A microwaveable hot water bottle is a really great investment as you will easily be allowed to warm it up using one of the microwaves on campus. Using this method, you can go into your lectures and rest assured that something will surely heat you up whenever you need it.

5. Go for a walk around campus if you have plenty of time

Even though some students would not like the idea of doing exercise while they have so many other things to do, it is proven that exercise can warm up the human body when practiced. Going for a walk around campus with plenty of layers of clothes on is one way to become warmer quickly. It also gives you many other benefits such as reducing stress and giving you some well-needed fresh air.
